Frequently Asked Questions

At St. Mark Lutheran School, your family will find more than a school. You'll discover a close-knit, supportive community where families, students, and staff build meaningful relationships. Through strong parent-teacher partnerships and a family-oriented culture, we walk alongside your children who know they belong and are deeply loved by God.

We integrate Biblical truth into every subject, pray daily in the classroom, offer weekly chapel services, and build a foundation of faith that prepares students for life and eternity.

At our Green Bay campus, students attend a chapel service every Wednesday. At our De Pere campus, the preschool classes attend a short chapel service on the second Wednesday of every month. All chapel services include Bible readings, songs, and a short message that is tailored to their level. Every chapel service is led by one of our church’s pastors, teachers, or staff ministers, or a guest pastor/teacher from another congregation. Parents are invited to attend chapel services, too!  We also support different Christian missions each semester through prayer and mission offerings.

St. Mark offers 3K through 8th grade at our Green Bay campus (1167 Kenwood St.) We also offer preschool at our De Pere campus (2066 Lawrence Dr), with separate 3K and 4K classrooms.

St. Mark offers athletics beginning as young as 3rd grade, giving students opportunities to use their God-given abilities in a safe, Christian environment. We view athletics as part of the total education process, helping students grow in teamwork, leadership, work ethic, confidence, and Christ-centered character.

Sports include basketball, baseball (Junior Foxes Baseball), cheerleading, cross country, football (Fox Valley Saints Football), golf (Junior Foxes Golf), soccer, softball, track, volleyball, and wrestling (Fox Valley Saints Wrestling and local school district partnerships).

We also offer arts and extracurricular programs for students, including Forensics, band, Junior Choir, piano lessons, voice lessons, Math Bowl, Spelling Bee, and a school play/musical.

Each of our classrooms takes on its own community service project, whether it be serving at Foster the Village, collecting diapers and packaging them at Bay Area Life Center, or baking and decorating cookies for a local senior living center. Our entire school takes part in an annual “UnbeLEAFable Blessings” event, raking our neighbors’ yards, and collecting food for our St. Mark Food Pantry.

Each student at St. Mark is a precious gift from God. It is our prayer that, with God’s help, we will support all students so that they can fully use the gifts and abilities God has given them.

We work hard to support students with a variety of learning needs, including those who need extra help and those who benefit from additional academic challenge. Our staff partners with families to understand each child’s needs and provide support that helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Parents and teachers can refer students who struggle academically for evaluation and extra help as needed. Individualized education programs are developed for students who will receive instruction in Student Services. Adaptive education plans are developed for students who need classroom accommodations due to disabilities or medical conditions.

Parents and teachers can also refer students who need more academic challenges to St. Mark’s gifted program. Students who qualify for this program may receive extra support in a variety of ways, such as differentiation within the classroom and/or individual or small group instruction at a higher or accelerated level.

All of our classrooms are single grade, with the exception of our Green Bay preschool, which is combined 3K/4K. Single-grade classrooms are offered for De Pere 3K and 4K, and for every grade from Kindergarten through 8th grade in Green Bay.

Yes, St. Mark Lutheran School has been fully accredited since 2006. In our 2024 accreditation review, St. Mark earned a 95% accreditation score, reflecting our commitment to high academic standards and continuous improvement.

We would love to welcome you on-site for a private tour and conversation with our school principal! Simply visit our Contact page and fill out the form, or call the school office at (920) 494-9113.

Open enrollment begins in January for the following school year. However, applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Depending on classroom space, we may be able to accommodate a mid-year enrollment or transfer. Call our school office to discuss dates and details.

We are proud of our 13:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Your child will experience a nurturing education at St. Mark, with encouraging teachers who care about your child’s academic success (and spiritual foundation) just as much as you do.

Our master school calendar is available on the Current Families webpage. The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m. Preschoolers who attend half days are in school from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Go Pack Go! Our school is blessed to be in the shadow of the iconic Lambeau Field, which means game days can affect our school schedule. When a Packers game falls on a school day, students typically have an early release day. This is built into the schedule from the beginning of the school year, so no instructional time is lost.

We also have church and school volunteers who park cars in our school parking lot during Packers games. Funds from these parking days support various ministries and programs at St. Mark Ministries. If you are going to a Packer game, consider parking in our parking lot!

Yes, St. Mark offers before and after-school childcare for preschool through 8th grade in a safe, caring, Christ-centered environment. Care is available from 7:00-7:40 a.m. and 3:15-5:45 p.m.

Tuition is adjusted annually. These numbers reflect the 2026/2027 school year.

For 3K and 4K preschool, half-day tuition is $2,910 for three days per week or $4,850 for five days per week. Full-day tuition is $4,140 for three days per week or $6,900 for five days per week. For Kindergarten through 8th grade, tuition varies by family category, including St. Mark partner, sister WELS/ELS congregation, and non-partner rates. Please visit our tuition page for the most current tuition information.

Yes, St. Mark offers tuition assistance for students in PreK through 8th grade. Families who apply will be notified by the beginning of June regarding financial aid awards for the following school year. You can find out more about the application and process during enrollment.

Yes, St. Mark participates in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program! School Choice allows qualifying families to receive state-funded tuition assistance to attend a participating private school, such as ours. Families who qualify receive free tuition to attend our school.

New applicants may include students entering 4K, Kindergarten, or 1st grade, as well as students transferring from a public school or homeschool at any grade level. Please visit our School Choice page to learn more about eligibility and application windows.

No, your family does not need to be Lutheran or a member of St. Mark Ministries to enroll at St. Mark Lutheran School. We welcome families who desire a Christ-centered education and are comfortable with their children learning God’s Word as part of each school day. We would love to welcome your family for worship at St. Mark, anytime!

St. Mark Ministries is a WELS Lutheran ministry that teaches salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, on the basis of Scripture alone. We believe in the Triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and teach that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, whose perfect life and death won forgiveness and eternal life for us. You can learn more about our beliefs and the overall mission and vision of our ministry on our church website.

If you are interested in becoming a partner at St. Mark Ministries, begin with Starting Point, a flexible online course that introduces the foundations of faith and our congregation. After completing Starting Point, you can meet with our Congregational Life Minister to ask questions, share your story, and explore next steps for growing, serving, and connecting at St. Mark. Learn more about this process on our Next Steps page.

After graduating from St. Mark, many students continue their Christian education at Fox Valley Lutheran High School or another area high school. Our middle school program is designed to help prepare students academically, socially, and spiritually for the transition to high school.

Our school does not offer any formal summer programming at this time. However, St. Mark Ministries hosts Kids Camp – similar to Vacation Bible School (VBS) – every summer, and we have opportunities for youth groups (middle school and high school) during the summer, as well. Subscribe to our church email newsletter to receive updates on these programs!
